This forum is for discussion and information of sample databases provided by MySQL AB.

At present, the only official sample database is the World sample database. The World sample database provides a set of tables listing countries, cities, languages, and various demographic information.

A new sample database, codenamed Sakila, is currently in development. The Sakila sample database is modeled after a bricks and mortar DVD rental chain and features tables for films, actors, inventory, payments, and so forth. While there are no official downloads available at this point, watch for sticky posts in this forum for unofficial review versions of the software.
