Archivos ibd - Particionar

Es posible particionar un archivo .ibd en varios sub archivos (.ibd.1,.ibd.2) y luego volver a crear el archivo .ibd a base de estas particiones
Ejemplo:

file.ibd //archivo original

file.ibd.1 //Archivo particionado 1
file.ibd.2 //Archivo particionado 2

Un poco de norte me caería bien.
