Hola Jon,


El mensaje "Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)" puede ser desplegado debido a diferentes situciones, como que la contraseña ha sido introducida incorrectamente, que "localhost" no pueda ser resuelto, y solo funcione por IP(127.0.0.1 por ejemplo), y solo por mencionar algunas.


Puedes comenzar por intentar con la contraseña correcta, re-establecer la contraseña a una nueva, usar la opción -h con la IP Address en lugar de localhost, y si sigue generando error, seguir indagando si el usuario 'root'@'localhost' existe, etc.
