Select se demora en tabla de 3 millones de registros.

Buenos días a tod@s.

Tengo una tabla en MySQL con 3 millones de registros aproximadamente y un campo fecha que esta como índice.

La cuestión que al hacer una select y filtrar por el campo fecha me tarda mucho.

También utilizo un group by id.

Como puedo hacer para que no tarde tanto?.
