If i type
mysql -u root and hit return it prompts for a password, as soon as i enter it i get the error
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO)
.Same happens for mysql -u root -p it prompts for password then gives the error.
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)
It is as though the password is incorrect but i know it is not.It may be the password has been reset but just enter does not help either.
Either way i have no way of logging in as root ?
