Assistant Network/System Engineer (m/f)
The Assistant Network & System Engineer works with the Director of Technology, the Network & System Engineer and the IT Technicians to ensure the day-to-day functioning of the IT systems in place at MIS.
The Assistant Network & System Engineer supports the Network & System Engineer in monitoring IT systems’ functions and takes necessary action to deal with malfunctions, faults and other issues. S/he deals with hardware and software issues and is the first point of contact for staff members in administration and the schools’ offices. The Assistant Network & System Engineer also supports the Director of Technology in data management, including data integration, data transfer and user account management, as well as the maintenance of various software programmes. Moreover, as a flexible and well-organised team player, the Assistant Network & System Engineer provides support and technical advice to, and collaborates with the IT Technicians.
Your profile:
- Experience in setting up and maintaining Windows, MAC OS 10.6+ and Linux servers, directory services, as well as Ethernet and wireless network systems
- Very good knowledge of Windows and MAC client systems
- Familiarity with Unix, SQL, ASP, PHP or similar languages
- Preferred qualification: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC) or equivalent
- Minimum qualification: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or equivalent
- Language proficiency: fluency in English and German
