MySQL dev - Southern California
We're looking for a MySQL DBA to assist us in setting up a specialized image database. This is a contract position (which has the possibility of becoming to full-time in the future).
Applicant Requirements:
* must live in Southern California, preferably Orange County (Irvine area)
* experience w database performance tuning & planning for future growth
(especially in MySQL-based environments)
* experience with distributed database systems
Database Requirements:
* mechanisms for data backup/restore of databases
* provide restoration services as needed
* Develop & optimize physical design of MySQL database systems
* Develop application-specific fault-tolerant distributed database system
