Major online media client in New York City seeks a full-time MySQL DBA.
Responsibilities:
* Day to day management of existing database servers in production, development and QA.
* Capacity planning and scalability reports.
* Installation and setup of new database servers.
* Benchmarking and performance tuning of MySQL database servers.
* Ownership of database security.
Qualifications:
* Experience installing, maintaining and tuning relational databases (MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server).
* 2+ years of experience with MySQL with at least one year with MySQL in production.
* UNIX Scripting background (perl, php, shell).
* Solid understanding of LINUX Systems Administration.
* Experience tuning and optimizing database servers on LINUX platforms.
* iSCSI/AoE/SAN and Data Warehousing experience is a plus.
