Use of merge tables
MySQL 5.0 adds support for views and MySQL 5.1 adds support for tables partitioning. In past versions, Merge tables could be used sometimes to replace views, but now it's unnecessary. I think that in 5.1 a partitioned MyIsam table is always better than a Merge. Will you still support Merge in future versions?
