If it's supposedly so simple, then why isn't it automatic? Why leave this alleged "decision" up to developers at all if it's apparently not a decision at all?


Fuck it; either MySQL has an utterly redundant keyword, its documentation is terrible, or no-one wants to give me a useful answer, or all of the above. I no longer care.
