I havent tried using a temp table inside a trigger, but why don't you just use an ordinary table?
If you add a column to that to store the CONNECTION_ID, and an auto_increment you can always find out which set of data was generated last.
Ok, you should periodically clean the table, but I think it's a usable workaround...
