Access to Data Bases
Hello,
I'm pretty new with MySQL. I downloaded the "Windows" version and installed it on my PC. I signed in as "root" using the following command on the shell:
mysql --user=root mysql
I added a new user named "admin" with the followin command:
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'admin' IDENTIFIED BY 'pass.word' WITH GRANT OPTION
First, when I try to acces mysql with the following command:
mysql --user=admin -p
and then typing the password when I'm asked, the access is denied and I get the following message:
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'admin@localhost' (Using password: YES)
I need to enter mysql WITHOUT the password option. I expected to "create" new databases using that user, but whenever I try to do so, I keep on getting the following error message:
ERROR 1044: Access denied for user: '@localhost' to database 'pelos'
Isn't supposed to create a DB when I have assigned ALL PRIVILEGES to user admin? Why is it not accepting my password?? Sorry if the questions are stupid for most of you, MySQL connaisseurs...
Sincerely,
KARIM DE ALBA ROMENUS
