Anyway to access mysql via SSL..

My whm has bit the dust and keeps reloading but still has all the sites saying cant find mysql.. i think its possible the myqsl may have been upgraded and my old sites cant handle it.. as mysql was pretty outdated.. but wondering if the mysql data base is still on the server and can it be access via ssl.. like i can see all the files intact using winscp and putty but i have to go via iP since even the main dns controller site will not come up..

Any advice for attempting to access mysql via SSL..
