5.1.66 was the last version actually released for AIX. If you're running 5.1.73 I presume you built it yourself.
There is no 5.2, the next version after 5.1 is 5.5. This was not released for AIX but the "beta" 5.5.2-m2 was. You can download sources via
http://downloads.mysql.com/archives/community/
No guarantee that anything beyond 5.5.3-m3 will build on AIX 5.3 but I think others have successfully built much newer versions.
