Why so many processes created by Workbench?
I'm new to Workbench, I've been playing around with it and I can see that it's a powerful tool. Currently I'm using it to look at a DB for a site I'm developing and it has no users yet. I've noticed under "Client Connections", when I first startup the app there are a handful of "root" connections, which are all Workbench connections. I glance at Server status, and without running any queries, after a few minutes, there are around 34+ connections. They are all Workbench. Most of them are sleeping.
I'm just wondering what Workbench uses these 34+ connections for - why it needs so many concurrent connections. I understand MYSQL queries pretty well but I don't understand the connections part of MYSQL very well. Thanks for the information.
