Workbench to an existing Database

G'Day Everyone,
I am so new again to Workbench it is embarrassing. I need some directional help.
I installed Workbench 6.1 Community on a Windows 8 workstation. From Workbench, I successfully connected to the Linux server and the MySQL database that I manually, partially built out back in 2010.

I am still trying to figure out how to edit some of the old tables and add new tables. Do I need to create a "New Model" even though I am directly connected to the database and tables. How do I get the schema of this existing database to show up in EER? That's it for now. I have been on hold for Workbench sales for very long, trying to get the price of the Standard Edition and had to bail out of the call. Any idea what the Standard Edition cost.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Warm Regards.
