I issue,
./mk-variable-advisor -uroot -poracle localhost

The output shows two lines which is confusing me.

------------------output trimmed---------------------------------
# WARN log_bin: Binary logging is disabled, so point-in-time recovery and replication are not possible
And again it says,
-----------------------------output cut------------------------------------
# WARN sync_binlog: Binary logging is enabled, but sync_binlog isn't configured so that every transaction is flushed to the binary log for durability.

First line shows binary logging is disabled, another line shows binary logging is enabled.

Can anyone explains me how does mk-variable-advisor produces its output. What is the meaning of these two contradictory lines.
