I just have INDEX(tetUID, cudUID) but not INDEX(cudUID,tetUID): I will update my table!
And I'll modify settings in my.cnf as you suggest.
Finally: maybe you're correct about the "swapping" memory-harddisk that go down some DELETE speed in random fashion (I know that 1GB is bad!)
I'll do changes and I'll report here the results.
