SSL security for an application using PEM file

Hi

I am able to login to mysql using ssh with ssl ON using --ssl-ca=name.pem

How do I do this with JDBC ? Is there option to use pem file for starting a secured connection from an application !?

May be I dint understand the concepts !! pl help me
