.net connector & adodb

I am new to mysql transfering a application from mssql to mysql, so any advice would be appreciated.
I have tried to find documentation in relation to adodb and mysql but cant seem to find anything dealing with (programming language not an issue):
adodb.connection
adodb.recordset
Is it possible to access mysql via adodb, any example or assistance would be appreciated.
