Error code 2908 appears when trying to install

Hi all,
I've tried to install the latest version of MySQL connector .NET (1.0.6)on Windows XP
and all I get is the error code 2908.
I have MySQL 4.1 installed and I have tried the NET installation with and without the
MySQL server service running.
Any suggestions?
