Haha I did not know that, but for some unknown reason when I unpacked the zip archive my extractor would freeze, so I just used the MSI after screwing with the registry. Everything is okay now, but I did not know that installing via zip was that easy.

To answer your question, yes I do mean that the installer was not detecting python. It would say "MySQL Connector/Python requires python 2.7 to be installed".

Is there any way that the installer could be changed to look in "local machine" AND "current user" for an install path to avoid this error? I'm just curious because I really know nothing about installers.
