Seconded!
I am running 5.1.50 on a 64-bit linux installation with 48GB ram. I created some memory/heap tables,dropped them, added more (for a new query set), and repeat a couple more times. I am approaching 90% memory usage (via top) on mysqld, but I have dropped all of the tables. Any ideas?
