Using PHP 5.0.2 i get a connection error

I had no problems connecting to a database on older MySQL versions. But with MySQL 4.1.5 and PHP 5.0.2 i get this error:

No: 1251
Message: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

Any suggestions??
