FLOAT and scientific notation

Hi, it seems like when large numbers are stored within a FLOAT column that the number gets stored in a scientific notation (e.g. 1245000 becomes 1.245e+06). My column is price/monetary data, so I don't want this type of notation.

How can I disable this so that MySQL doesn't automatically store my numbers in scientific notation?

Thanks for reading. Any help on this is very appreciated.
