Use Federated tables to spread very large database
Hi,
I have a database on a single server, it will store several terabytes in 100 tables in a not so distant future, I am considering looking into using federated tables to move data to other physical servers. The database cpu load will be no problem, but the size of the database will be, therefore I want to move them to other servers. Anyone tried this? Any better ideas?
OS is Linux 2.6 on x86 hardware with only internal disks, maybe a real SAN solution would be the right path instead?
