Strange results with phrase search

Hi all,
i have a problem with the following search term:
match (title,text) AGAINST ('"audiovisuelle kommunikation" "marketing kommunikation" marketing* kommunikation* werbe* werbung*' IN BOOLEAN MODE)
this get 53 results. If i remove kommunikation* from the pattern i get 79 results.
If i search only for "audiovisuelle kommunikation" "marketing kommunikation" i get 0 results.
If i remove "audiovisuelle kommunikation" "marketing kommunikation" i get 83 results.
Anybody out there who can explain why i get more results when i remove some search terms? None of the words should be in the stopword list (we use the default MySQL list).
Any help would be very appreciated.
