New MySQL user needs help getting mysql.exe

Never mind - I think I figured it out.


I own an on-line small business and I want to incorporate php and mysql. Since I am new to both - I decided to take a class to learn all I could.

I have read a number of the posts here - and my problem is this. I need a copy of mysql.exe, etc for my pc. My mysql databases are housed remotely on my webhost company's servers.

I have already installed the odbc driver for mysql. Tested the connection which worked fine. But am at a standstill. When I go to mysql.com - I cannot figure out where to get the version of mysql.exe that I need to be able to connect remotely. I have windows xp.
