cygwin client build failed - no 4 byte int

Hi. I have built mysql version 5 previously using a year-old version of cygwin with no problems. However, I had to reinstall cygwin using the current version and on this one mysql versions 5,1, 5.0 and 4.1 fail during the make on my_global.h line 877 complains that "neither int nor long is of 4 byte length".

I was only trying to build the client (--without-server) because I only need the libmysqlclient.a and includes so that I can build the perl DBD module.

I'm using this on a Pentium 4, and while I understand what the message is saying, I'm wondering if there's not an easy workaround.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks
Dave
