So why put events on the master if you do not what them to execute ? You could just put events onto the slave if you only want them run on slaves ?

Another option to explore would be to add/test with:
Replicate_Ignore_Table: information_schema.EVENTS

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/replication-options-slave.html#option_mysqld_replicate-ignore-table

This would prevent the events even being copied over and would have to test to see if it avoids the execution. This is all just an idea though and not tested.
