Connection problem from Windows Connector/C

I have a MySQL Community Edition Server on Fedora 25 Workstation.

I also have a MySQL Connector/C Client on a different Fedora 25 Workstation which works correctly apart from the problem that was introduced to do with output parameters. This client is able to successfully read and write to the server.

I have the same MySQL Connector/C Client in Windows 7 which is having connection issues to the same server as above. When my Windows client application calls mysql_real_connect(), it generates a memory access violation which crashes the client. I'm unable to figure out what is wrong considering that the same client works on Fedora.

Has anyone encountered the same issue? Can anyone give me some pointers on how to resolve it?
