Hi, Lambert, thanks for helping out.

I am unable to make it work. I have both Visual Studio 2017 and Visual Studio 2019 installed, the "MySql database" does not show in that connections list.

Let me explain:

Test case A:

1. Installed Visual Studio 2017
2. Installed Visual Studio 2019
3. Installed MySQL stuff.

Result: NOTHING shows up, none of the VS installations.

Test case B:

1. Installed Visual Studio 2017
2. Installed MySQL stuff
3. Installed Visual Studio 2019
4. Repaired MySQL stuff

Result: I can connect to MySQL from VS2017, nothing shows up in VS2019

Test case C:

1. Installed Visual Studio 2019 ONLY
2. Installed MySQL stuff

Result: I can connect to MySQL from VS2019, however, when I try using EF, the wizard shows EF5 only - cannot check EF6.

===============

Bottom line: GOOD BYE MYSQL. Too bad. It could have been an alternative. But I wasted way too much of my time to make this sh*tty thing work. ENOUGH.
