Changing Data directory

I'm having problems understanding where MyIsam saves the data. So far, I only used InnoDB. In MySQL Administrator -> Start up variables -> InnoDB parameters: I can see 'Data directory'. The location I entered here is were the data is saved. I can see this in Windows Explorer.

But I can't find this field under 'MyISAM parameters'. But under 'General parameters' it is. Why can InnoDB overrule the data directory, but MyIsam can't?

What happens if I change the data directory in the general parameters section? What happens to the current data? Will it be moved to the new location? Or will it result in errors?
