Disaster recover MySQL 4.1 -> 5.0 no dump available

Hi,

I used a MySQL 4.1 Server to develope PHP/MySQL databases under windows.
Last week my HDD crashed so I'd to install anything new and decide to install MySQL 5.0 instead of MySQL 4.1 for being up to date.

Now the problem - I've never did a dump of my databases, I ever did a full backup of important folders.
So nothing is lost - the whole database dir exists in an archive.

The matter is that when I only copy the old "data" dir into the new one it don't work.
phpmyadmin tells me for example "#1017 - Can't find file 'tbl_geodata' (errno: 2)".

So please can somebody tell me how to restore my databases from my backup?

Thanks,

Andre
