How to debug mysqld when you start first time from source code build

Hi Team,

I am working on one of the module for mysql. I am facing issue when i restart mysql using "mysqld_safe --user=mysql &"

I have clone and build latest mysql 8.0 and i have written one module for mysql. but there is some problem in the module as i restart mysql its creating issue.

Putting additional logs in the source code is not helping me much.

Could you please guide me how can i debug mysqld daemon when i start first time using command "mysqld_safe --user=mysql &"
