There are many techniques. Let's start with your desired case.
* Search by a specific (correctly spelled) name?
* Search by "keywoard"?
* Drill down in "categories"?
* Use a simple "number"?
* something else?

Data Warehousing refers to storing huge amounts of data. Do you have more than, say, 50 million items?

Performance might be a more appropriate forum. You will need to be more specific. Vague questions tend to be ignored.
