Produce XML output in MYSQL 5.0

Hi,

--xml -e "select * from roles" . i have written this query using MYSQL command line. But this doesn't output anything. i have also tried --xml -e "select * from roles" >roles.xml, i couldnt find the roles.xml file.

Kindly let me know what needs to be done.
