Add the word "new" when table is updated.

What I am looking to do is have the word "new" shown on a webpage when a table is updated.

So on the webpage, I have a list in a table format. When I update the table and have new items shown, what can I add to my current script (maybe an if statement?) to show that item is newer or recently added to the list.

So if the item in the list is older than (date), but newer than (date), display "New"
