Error: 1335 during installation of MySQL 5.0 on Windows XP/Athalon 64

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble installing MySQL 5.0 on my Windows XP machine running on an AMD Athalon 64 processor. I tried both installation files, mysql-essential-5.0.37-win32.msi file and mysql-5.0.37-win32.zip file, from the Windows (x86) download section. Installation did not go very far at all. These are the error messages I'm receiving:

1. Windows Essenstials (x86): Error 1335.The cabinet file 'product.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. (I re-downloaded the same file twice from different mirror sites and also rebooted my machine and got the same message.)
2. Windows (x86) ZIP/Setup.EXE: Error reading file (This happened during unzip using Windows XP zip feature. I re-downloaded this file as well. No luck.)

I didn't think Windows x64 files would work on my machine, but I tried it just for kicks; sure enough, I got a message stating: This installation package is not supported by this processor type.

Can someone please shed some light on this issue?
