Thanks for writing in our forums!
I verified the problem you described, you found a bug. Actually I noticed you already filed it in bugs.mysql.com, thanks for doing so.
As a workaround you could grab a previous GA version in:
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/excel/
To the right side there is a link titled "Looking for previous GA versions?", if you click on it you will see the previous GA version for download.
I see the version 1.2.1 listed there, and I know that does not contain this bug you found.
