ndb in vmware

Hi,

what do you think, what is the best solution for solving our HA issue in mysql. We have two possibilities:

Possibility one:
ndb in 3 vmware virtual machines (3 physical hosts, 1 VM on each), connected with individual virtual network. Mysqld on every host that wants to use ndb cluster (10 VMs = 10mysqld) I read that there is some problem with handling timings, that is not possible to maintain reliable system clock in virtualized environment.

1) So the question is, does it represent still problem for ndb?
2) Are there any big performance penalties if I had multiple mysqld ? Mysqld still represents SPOF and this is only one possibility that seems to be really HA.

Possibility two:
mysqld (simple MyISAM/InnoDB) with vmware fault tolerance. The problem is that we are losing load balancing. Are there any use cases that it is running ok with mysqld?

Thanks,
