Terabyte DB Backup !

BACKUP FORUM GROUP:

I moved to a new company as a DBA. The company has many mysql databases that are being backup by mysqlbackup as normal. However, the company also purchased a system from another company that uses MySQL CE as its database platform. The main engine is InnoDB and the database is sized at over 1TB. Additionally, there is another MySQL instance on another host which also get all of the DML - ie, active/active pair. However, the system does not have a backup/restore plan and it is my responsibility to ensure we can restore in case of a disaster. Can you please suggest what are the available options assuming the database must be kept running? Thank you very much for any assistance and direction.
