Dear Lisa,
I am having exaclty the same problem. I am using PHP 5.1.6 Apache 2.0.59 and MySQL 5.0.20 on Windows XP. PHP/Apache functions well and MySQL works well. But I am not able to Conect MySQL using PHP.

I have done the needful in php.in and apache config file. In my case it seems that the php.in is not being refered. The program works well even if i remove php.in file.

Could you solve this problem?? Help me if you can???
