variables per database ?

Hi All,

Is it possible to define settings per database in my.cnf at all. In my my.cnf file i have max_user_connections set to 20 which is the system-wide setting but what if a client needs 30 ? is there a way to allow him 30 but limit the rest to only 20 ?
