Dear all,

I'm new with MySQL. I have a question. What's the default password for the linux user which runs MySQL server?

I installed my 5.0.51a server with apt-get so mysql user has created automatically. As I already learned that /etc/shadow contain ! for mysql user what means the user can not sign in, she is only for technical purposes, to run MySQL. In the other hand, no password hash stored in /etc/shadow

I wouldn't change mysql password, but would like know in case of problem in the future. I tried to find the answer on the net but I only got exact explanation about the user administration inside the sql server but nothing about this os user.

Thanks in advance.
M.
