Creating Data Entry Screens

Though I have many years of experience in various levels of information technology, I would not call myself much of an expert in database development and administration. I have had experience creating and managing simple databases using the old UNIX product, Unify, and Microsoft Access. I've also used Crystal Reports to generate reports from Access databases. But I've never been a paid dedicated database developer. All of my knowledge in these areas has been self-taught.

Both Unify and Microsoft Access provided utilities which allowed me to easily design and create data entry screens for my users. You know the type of screens we're talking about here. They are screens where a novice user could enter information like their name, birth date, address, etc.. Pressing the "enter" key would commit the information to previously designed fields in the database.

I cannot seem to be able to find any utilities or applications which would allow me to easily create data entry screens as front ends to a MySQL database. I really like the concepts, goals, and objectives of MySQL. I want to support this technology as much as possible. And I have used PhpMyAdmin and other utilities to set up and expand applications based on MySQL; like Drupal, Mambo, and WordPress. I seem to be able to find lots of resources for managing MySQL databases and tables. But how can I easily create screens which novice users can use to enter information into a MySQL database?

Any guidance which could be provided will be greatly appreciated.
