Table Sizes, Capacity, Speed
I am evaluating MySQL for embedded commercial use and have a few questions.
I will be running a dedicated server machine just for the MySQL.
(MS Server 2008, IBM x3550, 24 core Xeon X5650 2.57GHz, 12GB RAM)
- Are there any actul limits (practical or theoretical) for row numbers, table numbers, database size etc?
- Does database size affect performance?
- Would 50 tables with 3million rows present a problem?
- Say I run a very simple SQL query on a table with 3million rows. Would this be slower than say on a table with 1000 rows?
