Thanks for your answer.

I changed the datadir path in the my.ini file; but when I tried to restart the MySQl service in order to apply the change, the service cannot start anymore ("Could not start the MySQL56 service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly"), even after rebooting my computer. When I step back the original datadir path in the my.ini file, everything back to normal.

In fact, I want to put the datadir on a network drive shared with colleagues. I think the problem is not due to the fact that I am not the root on the network drive because after trying to move the datadir to another local folder, I face the same issue.

Do you have any idea?
