Connect problem

I am using MysQl with MetaTrader 4 and 5. It works properly in MT5 but in MT4 gives me errno 2005 when I do a mysql_real_connect. MT5 is unicode so values are transformed to ANSI. MT4 is ANSI so no transformation of paramerst is used.
