SQL command line error crashes Windows 7
I have newly installed MySQL on Windows 7.
Command line SQL runs fine and any normal commands are carried out correctly.
On any syntax or command input error, the appropriate SQL error message is issued, as expected.
But then - Windows 7 nearly ceases to run as follows:
1. Clicking on any window has no effect.
2. Mouse pointer still moves though sometimes slowly and unevenly.
3. Ctrl-Alt-Del does bring up the usual Windows 7 prompt...
4. ... but the Windows 7 task manager cannot be opened.
5. ESC to exit from the Windows Ctrl-Alt-Del prompt is successful, but only to return to the non-responsive Windows 7 state.
6. Windows 7 must be rebooted to exit this state.
This may sound like a Windows 7 bug but this only happens with the SQL command line on any syntax or command error.
The computer runs perfectly normal otherwise.
It seems that after a command error MySQL is running some task that is killing the machine.
Your help is appreciated.
